Uzbekistan SMS numbers: +998 and nine-digit national numbers

Read the nine digits after +998

The Uzbekistan Telecommunication Management Center’s 2023 numbering update, published by ITU, gives +998 as the country code and a fixed nine-digit national significant number. Its table distinguishes mobile destination codes such as 33, 50, 77, 88, 90 and 91 from geographic codes such as 71 for Tashkent fixed lines. A two-digit destination code is followed by seven more digits in that plan. This is a description of allocated numbering resources, not a list of SMS4U numbers available today or proof that a sender will accept any particular prefix.

If the app’s country selector has already inserted +998, check that the remaining national number has nine digits. The 00 shown in the plan is an outbound international dialing prefix from Uzbekistan; it is not part of an Uzbek number to paste into an app. Follow the sender’s local-format prompt when it differs, and compare every digit displayed there with the SMS4U order before requesting a text.

Compare the sender-specific offer

The current Uzbekistan snapshot has separate products for Telegram, Viber and Facebook. A quote for one sender does not buy delivery from another. Pick the sender before comparing the Smart, Select, Flex and Global pools, and check the order timer. The English table gives an indicative USD price; the checkout confirmation states the actual CNY debit.

Network names in the ITU table describe numbering allocation. SMS4U’s four pools describe purchase options and should not be treated as the same operator list. For a regional comparison, Kazakhstan uses +7 and a different numbering arrangement.

Investigate the sender’s response

For “invalid number,” check the nine national digits and whether +998 was inserted twice. For “unsupported region,” correcting the format may still leave the sender’s policy unchanged. If the sender says a message was sent but the order shows none, retain the request time, remaining order time and message status for support. A one-time SMS order covers only its visible receiving window; it does not grant long-term control of a number, voice service or future account recovery.
