Walmart account one-time texts and shopping alerts serve different purposes. Identify the screen before ordering an SMS number.

An account code is not a delivery alert
Walmart describes a one-time mobile text in account creation or editing, and may limit a phone number to one account. Online order texts are shopping notifications, not necessarily sign-in codes. Check that you are on Walmart’s official account screen and that it is texting the new number you entered.
A new temporary number cannot receive a text to the old phone masked on an existing account. Do not forward a Walmart code to a stranger who calls it an order confirmation.

Keep a usable contact for a US purchase
The US number guide lists current Walmart offers and indicative USD prices. The picker provides the pool, validity and final CNY charge. A listed number does not establish acceptance, permission for another account, or shopping and payment eligibility.
A real order may generate shipping, return, refund and security messages later. A short-lived number could be gone by then. Keep delivery contact details and a durable account recovery route available.
If account verification stops
A number-reused or invalid-phone error before the send is different from a missing SMS; use Walmart’s account help for that case. After a send, compare the destination, country code, active order and latest request. Do not confuse numbers in an order-status text with an account OTP.
