redbook SMS guide: check whether your account is rednote or Xiaohongshu

Check which account terms apply before choosing a number

redbook is the SMS4U product code. rednote's official terms distinguish people registered outside mainland China from mainland-registered Xiaohongshu users, who are covered by different terms. A similar product name does not establish that both account types accept the same country codes or login methods. If you are signed in, rednote says you can check the terms shown at the bottom of “Me → Settings”; this indicator may be inaccurate in older app versions. Otherwise, follow the country codes and verification methods on the registration or sign-in screen you actually see.

SMS4U does not offer mainland China numbers. If the screen accepts only a mainland number, requests a code sent to your existing bound phone, or does not offer an SMS step, a redbook quote is not a reason to buy. rednote's privacy notice describes phone numbers among possible account details and also describes third-party login. Available routes depend on your current account and region.

Only start a number order after finding a matching SMS prompt

1. In the target app, confirm the accepted country code, number format and whether the message is going to a newly entered number or an existing bound phone. SMS4U cannot receive a text addressed to your old number.
2. Select product code redbook and the matching country in SMS4U. Compare live pools, the lowest available price and the currently selected price. A country's starting price across all apps may differ from redbook's price; a quote is not a reservation.
3. Review the order lifetime and actual CNY debit before allocating a number. Once allocated, enter it in the format the app requests and watch Active orders for the text while the order is valid. Keep any code private.
4. If allocation reports no stock, refresh the quote or choose another offered pool. If a number was allocated but no text arrives, check whether the app sent it, the country code and number, and the order timer. If the app rejects the number or switches to another verification method, follow its message; repeating a purchase does not ensure acceptance.

Recent SMS4U redbook orders include allocated numbers and received texts. That is evidence of delivery on some orders only. It does not prove any country or number type will be accepted by the target app, or that a later login will work.

Plan long-term access if the account matters to you

rednote asks users to keep account information accurate and current, and says one phone number may create only one account. It may request additional information for particular features or an account appeal. An SMS4U activation order receives texts during its limited lifetime; it does not provide long-term control of the number, future codes or identity checks. For an account with posts, purchases or other content you need to keep, prefer a number you control over time and review the password or other login options the app currently offers.

To compare regions, read the SMS4U USA and Germany guides, then confirm the codes offered by the app. Country guides describe SMS4U supply; they do not establish rednote's or Xiaohongshu's regional eligibility.
