Shopify SMS numbers: check your existing sign-in method first
An SMS offer in the catalogue does not mean you can add SMS as a new Shopify two-step sign-in method.

Your balance, top-ups and order charges are in CNY. Confirm the final quote and CNY debit before purchasing. This snapshot may be stale. Check the picker for current quotes.

Check which Shopify account and sign-in step you mean
Shopify's current help says SMS can no longer be set up as a new two-step authentication method. Accounts that already use SMS may continue to use it, but a new merchant or staff account should not infer from an SMS4U listing that SMS can be newly enabled. If the Shopify screen offers a passkey, authenticator or another route, follow the available route instead of purchasing a number in search of an SMS option.
Merchant administration, staff access and a shopper's account at an individual store are different flows. A customer phone field on a storefront does not establish the rules for a merchant's admin sign-in. Confirm the actual site, account type and sender. Decide whether you are signing in to an existing account, changing security settings or supplying order contact details. An SMS product is relevant only if the current step actually offers to send a text to a number you may use.
Current Shopify country offers
These are indicative USD activation prices for a product in SMS4U, not a promise that Shopify permits SMS for your account. Confirm the final CNY debit separately.

What an existing SMS user should check
If SMS was already enabled on your Shopify account, first check whether you still control its registered number. Buying a different number does not move codes for the existing account to that number. Change authentication methods through your own Shopify security settings or recovery route. For a storefront customer check, match the country selected by that specific store to a Shopify product in the table. The USD amount is an indicative activation price; the picker confirms the pool, order duration and final CNY debit.
“No SMS option” may reflect Shopify's current setup rule, not a stock failure. “Code sent to old number” is an account-binding problem, not an issue a new random SMS4U number can solve. If a text was actually requested to a newly ordered number, note the request time, order window and any resend interval before retrying. SMS4U receives texts in an active order; it does not supply passkeys, authenticator codes, incoming calls or proof that you own a shop.
Plan a durable merchant recovery route
Shopify's help discusses recovery codes and alternative sign-in methods for existing SMS users. A one-time number is a poor sole security route for a store that you operate. Device changes, staff transitions and sensitive admin actions can require verification later. While you still have access, review a lasting authenticator or passkey and keep recovery codes safely under your control. If you have lost the original number, use Shopify's official account recovery steps.
The United States and Canada guides can help compare product countries, but stock does not change Shopify's permitted authentication methods. If your current screen does not require SMS, there is no reason to order one for that step.
